We had bought a few of their candles off amazon then my husband did a big Christmas order. We’ve now tried a variety of different shaped candles and have been happy with all of them. My favorites are the tall 12” tapers and the small 2” width pillars. The 3” pillars are great too.
I’ve been a repeat customer because we used to keep bees ourselves and I can tell the wax they use is top quality. When real beeswax is cut with soy ‘wax’ or paraffin (petroleum wax, what most candles are made from) it burns much more quickly, has an off smell, and never develops the bloom on the outside, which is a thin cloudy/powdery layer that real beeswax develops over time. Bluecorn candles develop this layer, a mark of quality, sort of like how only real honey crystallizes only real beeswax blooms (don’t worry, it wipes off with a damp cloth easily if you’re using your candles for a fancy event).
The 4” width pillars are good but not my personal favorite. They’re nice for slow days where I’m sitting around reading, have it lit all day long, and find myself fussing with the candle. They need some care to keep them burning level. If you’re someone who likes picking at your candles and squishing the top edges in and you leave it lit for several hours at a time this is your candle.
If you’re an hour or two in the evening kind of candle person the tapers and smaller pillars are perfect. I wish they made taller 2” widths but the price is super reasonable for the amount of wax they use so I can’t complain.
Now that we’re buying straight from the company direct we’ve been able to get better pricing. They pack the candles carefully, we’ve never received a broken or damaged one even in big, heavy shipments. I recently had to contact customer service with an issue (our fault, we messed up an order) and they were so nice and prompt with their replies to boot. They could easily have left the order as is and made more money on it but chose to do what was best for us instead which has earned them a long term customer and a positive review.
