Beeswax Pillar Candle Care:

Note: Sizes are based on mold dimensions; minor variations may occur as beeswax cools.

For All Pillars:

  • Trim wick to ¼" before each use
  • Always burn on a heat-safe surface
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended

2" Diameter Candles:

  • Burn for up to 1 hour at a time to prevent dripping
  • To snuff, drip wax onto the wick to eliminate smoke

3" Diameter Candles:

  • Burn at least 3 hours to avoid tunneling
  • Mold warm walls inward to optimize burn
  • Adjust curled or drifting wicks gently below wax line
  • Snuff by dripping wax onto wick

4" Diameter Candles:

  • Burn at least 6 hours per session
  • Gently hug sides in as candle burns down
  • Straighten wick as needed using a wick adjuster
  • Extinguish with a wax drip for clean finish

Maybe I got a lemon

I was a bit disappointed, as I have read so many positive things about BlueCorn candles. My pillar did not burn evenly, it smoked, I had to trim the wick several times while it was lit. It seemed to burn strait down the center, exposing more and more wick. Other than that, I do love the beeswax. I’m hoping this is just a one-off and the remainder of the candles in my order will burn more smoothly.

You’re always welcome to reach out to us directly whenever something feels off — we’re genuinely happy to help troubleshoot, and our production team truly appreciates the feedback.

From the photo, it looks like the sidewalls may just need gentle molding toward the flame during the burn. That helps the candle use all its fuel and keeps the wick from getting overexposed. Wick trimming is definitely part of caring for these pillars, especially to control smoking and ensure the wick burns properly. The best way to maintain an even burn is nudging the wick back toward the center when it starts to lean, since we don’t use metal cores in our wicks to keep them perfectly upright for the whole burn.

These American honey bees don’t mess around. The communist beeswax candles that my wife used to buy don’t even compare. This American candle smells like honey, it glows with Freedom and burns evenly. Shoot, it smells good even when it isn’t burning. Those American bees should be proud of their work. God bless!

Love the candles but they smoke

I love Bluecorn candles, use the beeswax tapers almost every day and like the pillar candles in the evening, however, no matter how I trim the wick, there always seems to be smoke coming up. I can see it at my air purifier as well. There is no breeze where the candles are located, inside a hurricane candle holder.
But they burn a long time, which of course is great!

I’m really sorry you’re seeing smoke, especially since you’re already trimming the wick and keeping things draft‑free. With the 4' diameter pillars, the wick has to be quite strong to burn that large candle properly, and that hotter burn can make them more prone to smoking. Using a hurricane holder can amplify that effect because the enclosed space traps heat and pushes the flame a little hotter than usual.

If you’re open to it, please reply with a quick photo or short video of what you’re seeing would be incredibly helpful. I can run it by our production team and make sure nothing unusual is going on with the wick or burn pattern.

These are great candles

They burn slowly and evenly, most importantly they are safe to use with the birds in the house, I will buy again. Bluecorn also has the best customer service!!
This batch had very little scent compared to the first batch I received, I rather liked the smell of the wax.
