A modern menorah with museum credentials. Designed by industrial designer Josh Owen for Areaware, this solid cast iron menorah is in the permanent collection of the National Museum of American Jewish History.
It's cast as a single piece, with a built-in tray that catches wax drips and holds spent matches between nights. It's simple enough to sit in the window all eight nights and sturdy enough to become the menorah your family brings out every year. The iron develops a soft patina with use.
