Thanks for the feedback! Happy to explain what's going on. Pure beeswax is much thicker/ has a higher melt temp than traditional paraffin candle wax, so it needs a slightly bigger wick to keep the flame fed. That bigger flame is why beeswax burns so efficiently and bright while it's lit. The smoke you're seeing happens for a second or two right after you snuff it out — that's just leftover wax vapor burning off as the flame dies, and a bigger flame means a bit more of it. Weaker wicks smoke less at that moment but tend to burn less efficiently and leave more soot behind over time. All to say the real beeswax clean burn difference shows up in the long run and over the life of the burn — less buildup on jars, walls, and ceilings — not in that quick puff after snuffing the stronger cotton wick.
