Our tapers are classic dinner candles dipped into pure molten beeswax at just the right temperature by a steady hand and a keen eye. These candlesticks are dipped and cooled over twenty times each before a pair can be cut free from the oak rack. When finished and hung, they carry the rich scent of honey and seem to hold light in their bellies. Kept out of drafts and away from fans these tapers will burn virtually dripless for about one hour per inch of length.

  • Each candle burns one hour burn per inch of length 
  • Perfect wedding candles or for celebrating the everyday 
  • Colored tapers are dyed solid/ all the way through
  • These are standard taper candles, they fit in the vast majority of candlestick holders. Beeswax is also wonderfully malleable. If your taper is a hair narrow, simply warm the base over a flame and the molten wax will secure the taper in place. If the taper candle is a touch wide, gently press and twist into place.

  • To prevent dripping, keep away from open windows, fans or excessive airflow of any kind and place your hand behind flame when blowing out.
  • Another trick to prevent dripping is to NOT trim the burnt wick before re-lighting! The long curled wick that you find should just be lit as is. Please note, this is different than all other candle styles that do benefit from regular wick trimming. 
  • We have consciously chosen not to include chemical preservatives in these candles, which means that some of the lighter colors in particular may shift, subtly over time/ if exposed to sustained UV
  • To minimize smoking use a snuffer to extinguish flame.

I LOVE Bluecorn Tapers

I love these candles. They are now the only tapers that I use, and they are a regular gift from me to friends and family. The colors are great, they don't drip, and they only burn about an inch an hour. They are the best candles I've used.

Very much enjoying the candles. However the wick seems to smoke a lot when I blow out the candles.

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear that you are enjoying our hand-dipped beeswax taper candles. We apologize for the issue with the wick smoking when blown out. This can sometimes happen with natural beeswax candles. We suggest trimming the wick before each use to help reduce smoking. You can also drip some of the melted wax on the wick to extinguish the flame and this also helps eliminate smoking. Please let us know if you have any further concerns.
